NIMBUS

The brand Nimbus originated in a garage - no joke. In the late 1980s it served as a workshop for the architect and toolmaker Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl. His first series lamp, a cylindrical halogen lamp with a cable system dubbed Cirrus 0, was created for an art gallery.

The clear, simple form language, combined with high-quality materials and a high degree of technical finesse, was plainly visible from the outset. But technical parameters like the development of heat and light emission forced him to use design grids, which he thought were too narrow.

He was able to by-pass these limitations by intensively immersing himself in LED technology around the turn of the century.
